Recently, The European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (ESPEN) proposed a consensus definition of malnutrition. The aim of the present study was to describe the prevalence of malnutrition according to the ESPEN definition in four diverse populations. Fragility fractures of the pelvis are occurring with increasing frequency. These fractures, occurring in the geriatric patient population, are low-energy injuries and are dissimilar in many ways from those caused by high-energy trauma. For example, the mechanism of injury is different and emergency treatment is usually not necessary. Having diminished bone strength, fragility fracture lines follow areas of low bone mineral density and loss of pelvic stability may increase over time. Risk factors for hospital readmission of elderly patients

Background: The aim of this study was to identify which factors were associated with a risk of hospital readmission within 3 months after discharge of a sample of elderly patients admitted to internal medicine and geriatric wards. Methods: Of the 1178 patients aged 65 years or more and discharged from one of the 66 wards of the 'Registry Politerapie SIMI (REPOSI)' during 2010, 766 were followed up by phone interview 3 months after discharge and were included in this analysis. Solitary central osteoma of mandible in a geriatric patient: Report and review

UNLABELLED Solitary central osteomas of jaw are extremely rare lesions with only few previously documented cases. This paper reports a case of large solitary central osteoma involving mandible symphysis- parasymphysis region in an elderly female patient.
